Pre- listening Activities:
Brainstorming: It is one of my favourite pre-listening activity and I usually start my lesson brainstorming what we did in previous class.
Questioning: Usually teachers ask questions after they finish the lesson. I sometimes like to ask questions before they listen to the target language. By reading the questions before listening to the text, students build up their own expectations about the coming information.
Personalisation Activities. Motivating our students is our key task. I they have to do listening about the sports, looking at some dramatic pictures of sports players or events will raise their interest. When I was teaching in elementary school we used to look at the pictures before listening because younger kids are very good at reading pictures.
While- Listening Activities:
.While listening to the entire page , I like to ask my students to draw what is described in the passage.
. While listening to the story or text I often ask my students to write key phrases and details.
Post -Listening Activities:
. After listening the story or passage, students come with different ending to the listening story or passage.
. Students can summarize what they heard in the story.
. Sometime after listening to the passage I ask my students to make a new title of the story.

I l love this module, writing expresses who you are as a person and it makes our thinking visible. It is a great tool to help us know more about the way you think. Writing can solidify ideas and thoughts, and allow us to think on them better .The writing activities which I really like in these section are ;
Music Activity: I really like the music activity as it is a great way to enhance student writing, and also establish calm environment for student to focus and relax while they organize their thoughts. I believe that music can be a powerful tool for learning new concepts,and variety of new vocabulary can be introduced to students through songs.
I also like the portrait activity as it will expand their imagination and visual analysis to describe a thing.
Creativity writing activity also is a form of writing that expresses feeling, emotions, and thoughts in an imaginative way. I would love to use creative writing as it encourages student to write what they know, and students can realize that how many different sentences they can form, or ideas they can express.
Recording every week events and activities in a journal or writing reflection of the whole week in a journal can also be interesting activity. I always ask my students to write two to three sentences about any thing they like or any thing that interest them during the whole week in their journal.
I would like to introduce writing through show and tell and drama .Acting and pretend play activities can be a wonderful tool to learn writing.

The pre - reading activities which I would like to incorporate into my future lessons are:
- Guessing the story from the chapter headings and predicting what will happen from the pictures.
- I would choose new and difficult vocabulary from the story and would write them on the board. I will pre teach them or review it with the students. After explaining the vocabulary words I will ask questions about the chosen words .Students will be asked to use vocabulary in their sentences.
- I will choose random sentences from the story and will write the sentences on the board not in the order they appear in the story. Learners will be asked to discuss in group how they think that these sentences will be placed in the correct order.
When they will read the story they can see how the sentences appear in it.
While Reading Activities:
-While reading I would like to ask questions based on text and will ask them to predict what will happen next.
- When learners are reading the story they will be asked to find information from the paragraphs.
- While reading the text I would ask students to identify previously discussed vocabulary words.
- I would ask learners to read the text in pairs.
Post- Reading Activities:
- After reading the text I would ask questions based on the text and will ask them to predict what will happen next.
- Once students read the text they will be asked to think of different endings in group and each group will be asked to share their endings in class.
- Students will be asked to summarize the story in their own words.
- Students will be divided into pairs and each pair will be asked to talk about their favourite character in the story.
People with good communication skills have a better chance of success in both the workplace and life in general. As language teachers we must be proficient in oral and written communication as very often we are the only role models for our students.
Almost at the end of this course I have learnt that teacher's deep understanding of what grammar is and how it works will allow us to better understand the errors and challenges that our students face. ESL students don't learn grammar the same way that native English speakers do.
During this whole course I learnt that we should teach our students entirely in English, even if we can speak the local language fluently. This will help the students tremendously as they were forced to communicate in English with real human beings rather seeing it as a list of rules.
I was surprise to see that students work better in group activities as they are working as well as communicating with each other. I didn't face any problem in planning any of the lesson or assignment infact each assignment and lesson planning gave us the opportunity to be more creative.

As a teacher I always enjoyed teaching grammar using inductive approach as it involves all the students. I never wanted to state any rules rather my job is to guide the students towards the rule, getting them to become aware of it. They can use their ideas fully , get more creative and can develop the ability to explore grammar, and set their own rules. All the students are actively participate in the class discussion and share their ideas.
Whenever I will teach grammar using deductive approach I will do lots of presentations using flash cards, white board and projector . This means I will give the students a new concept, explains it, and then make the students practice using the concept. After oral discussion I will orally do lots of exercises with them , once I am assured that they know the rules well , I will give them printable worksheets of short grammar exercises.

A good lesson is a vital component of the teaching learning process. Starting each lesson with something short and interesting will going to settle the students and engage them with the lesson. Proper class room planning will keep teachers organized and on track and help the students to reach their objectives more easily, class room disruptions are minimized , the stress on the teacher is reduces and the learning environment is optimized for students.
A lesson plan is the instructor's road map of what students need to learn and how it will be done effectively during the class time. . The daily lesson plan should detail the specific activities and content the teacher will teach during a particular week. They usually include:
. lesson objectives
. procedures for delivering instructions
. methods of assessing your students
. material needed to carry out the lesson plan
For a good lesson it is very important always to have learning objectives in mind for implementing important activities in the classroom. Similarly, goals are very important in curriculum planning because they determine what the student will accomplish.
When a plan is ready teacher can focus on its implementation and helps the students to maintain focus. It is the teacher's reflection . Planning is a complex yet essential part of the teaching process that changes overtime as teachers gain more hands on experience.
Well sequenced lesson plans benefit both the teacher and the students. Well organized and properly sequences lesson plan allow for a smoother functioning classroom , class room disruptions are minimized, the stress on the teacher is reduced, and the learning environment is optimized for students.

Grammar is the important pillar of every language. I think grammar is rules and without rules there is no understanding and no communication at all. Grammar is the backbone of a language and structure which you need to organize your ideas and put your message , ideas and feelings across. The structure in formal grammar provide extra clues to the meaning of your sentences, which can help overcome problems caused by accents and mistakes. Learning grammar help us in understanding the usage of those words which should be only be used for correct genders and things. Grammar has a major impact on what we say or write and we can compose ideas and express ourselves.
As a language teacher I realized that using lots of stories and role plays which is close to students' real life experiences actually develop their interest to learn new language with grammatical rules . For me learning new language for students should be fun. My first aim will be to improve their conversational fluency and simultaneously I will teach them grammar rules. I will do lots of repetition drills which will help them in understanding and getting familiar with the rules. Whenever I will do any activity with them I will keep on repeating the rules as I realized when you often memorize and repeat things they get absorbed in your mind. Role play will help them to listen to their peers and communicate. I always like to keep ten minutes review session in the end of class, which will actually give opportunity to review the main purpose of that lesson.

Following are the few points gathered from the material,which I would like to inculcate in my lessons.
1.For providing meaningful input,various tools like pictures,recordings and scenarios may be prepared in advance.
2.Help students understand these inputs.
3.Use simple vocabulary while doing so.
4.Speak slightly slower then the normal pace.
5.Create a setting where small group interaction is convenient.
6.Try to create an stress free environment.
7.Be very careful while discussing errors.
8.Explain key words in advance.
9.use simple sentences.
10.Provide comprehensive feedback.
After reading all the text the language teaching approach I liked was the communicative language teaching approach. CLT give the learners to interact and communicate with other learners .The students have the opportunity to learn through role plays, group work and games. They can bring outside world into class .
The language teaching approach which I rate the least will be the Grammar-translation approach because for an esl learner the main aim is to communicate in English. This language Grammar-translation approach focus on grammar rules and the teacher need to be fluent in the students native language in order to translate and this gets very difficult for the teacher who has large number of students from different culture.
Adult English language learners main aim is to learn English for their short- term needs , preparation for writing a English language test and to adjust in Canadian culture.These language requirements cannot be fulfilled by Grammar-translation approach.

I always prefer to learn visually and in small groups. I always learn alot through interactive discussion in class.. I had my experience in learning French as a second language and I have learnt the language best in communicative classroom.The communicative classroom gave us the opportunity to learn with real life examples and scenarios.
As a student during my class I always make notes during the discussion and then I used to elaborate it and write summary on it. This technique helps me in revising the important discussion done in class. The best way of learning is to learn using models and to perform the task in the classroom which the learners have to do outside classroom.

My definition of the six different types : of knowledge:
1.Snynctactic knowledge: It is the understanding of grammar , the usage of noun and verb where barlim is a noun and taddle is a verb.
2. Morphological knowledge: It is the uderstanding of the words formed with suffix and prefix . Root word is different but suffix is same . By adding a suffix we can form a new word like ;
teach - teacher ; learn - learner
All words have a specific meaning in the content in which they occur.
3. General World Knowledge:It is the knowledge of the characteristics and functions of any item that appear in the text.
4. Sociocultural knowledge: The knowledge of the culture , traits and customs in the text.
5. Topic knowledge:To have the knowledge and understanding of any topic.
6. Genre knowledge: It is the knowledge of text organization , setting and sequence of events.

The classroom based courses that I enjoyed the most were those that established clear objective for each lesson and where the instructor worked to meet those specific objective during each class. As a learner I enjoyed those classes where there were more interactive discussions annd where the teacher used more resources for explaining the lesson.
The great teachers that I had those who were able to create interest and keep everyone involved. These two can be achieved by making the session an interactive one. Teacher should be well planned and should have a grip on the subject. A good teaher is patient and has genuine interest in the welfare of student.
If I recall two things that were predominant in making lectures which I attended memorable , first the ability of the teacher to keep everyone locked in the discussion .Second perceived value addition at each step of lecture and finally a touch of humor to keep the conversation alive.
Few characteristics which improve class atmosphere and makes learning easy include soothing colour of the walls , absence of outside and inside disturbances like noisy heating or airconditioning system. Distractive colour scheme and uncomfortable furniture can influence learning in a negative way.
And for me a good teacher read and prepare herself sufficiently for every lesson to consolidate subject matter.
